LayerZero announces an upcoming airdrop for its token

LayerZero Labs will host a airdrop for the native token sound blockchain protocol at first half of 2024. The startup obtained a valuation à 3 billion dollars last spring.

Highly anticipated by the crypto community, the potential airdrop the inter-channel communication protocol LayerZero will indeed take place. Its publisher confirmed last night on X the upcoming launch of a native token and a forthcoming distribution.

LayerZero has always been built with the possibility of having a native token within the protocol, as shown by the immutable code launched on day one. We will now unequivocally declare that there will be a LayerZero token. Its distribution is something we’re committed to achieving, and we expect it to happen in the 1st half of 2024″, LayerZero Labs reported.

The start-up, which raised $200 million in April at a valuation of $3 billion, did not provide further details regarding airdrop eligibility conditions. Typically, projects distribute tokens to active users in their ecosystem and beyond.

As is often the case on X, cyber crooks have been posting fake messages – sometimes sent with verified accounts – under the LayerZero Labs advert in an attempt to steal crypto.

In September, LayerZero Labs entered into a partnership with Google’s cloud branch. The latter has become the default oracle for its protocol, which enables messages (data and assets) to be sent without intermediaries via applications hosted on various networks, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon and Avalanche.
