This international event invites you to immerse yourself in the world of the creation of video games and virtual experiences within the Minecraft environment, one of the most popular and played videogames in history.

If you have between 16 and 40 years old and you dream of dedicating yourself to the design of video games or virtual environments, this competition is a unique opportunity to demonstrate your talent.

What is BlockJam Innovators and what categories are there?

The BlockJam Innovators is a competition organized by IE University that seeks to promote the creativity and interest in video game design.. Participants will have the opportunity to develop a video game prototype within Minecraft, creating a unique virtual experience.

The competition is divided into two categoriesone for those interested in the “Master in Videogame Design and Virtual Environments” studies and another for the younger ones, who want to start their career in videogame development and design, with the “Bachelor in Design: Videogame Design and Virtual Environments Track” at IE University.

Themes of the BlockJam Innovators, by category

Each category has a specific topic that you should follow when developing your world in Minecraft.

• In the Master categoryThe theme is “Create your sustainable STARTUP”, where participants must build and develop an innovative and sustainable startup within Minecraft.
• In the Bachelor categoryThe theme is “Create your university CREATIVE LAB”, where participants will design a creative university laboratory ideal for academic life.

How to participate in the BlockJam Innovators

Participating in the BlockJam Innovators is very simple, you just need to register through the registration form on the BlockJam Innovators website. You can participate as an individual or in teams of up to three people. Once you have registered, you will receive all the necessary information and will be able to join the official Discord channel of the competitionwhere you will be able to interact with other participants, organizers and mentors and ask questions regarding the event.

Awards and Recognition

The three winners or winning teams in each category will receive prizes to study at IE University. In the Mater category, the first place will get a prize 10.000€.while the second and third place will receive 5.000€ and €2,500 respectively, to study the Master in Design: Videogame and Virtual Environments. On the other hand, in the Bachelor category, first place will be awarded 30% of the program, second place 20% and third place 10%. In addition, the following will be awarded honorable mentions to the most outstanding projects in areas such as Best Story, Best Design and Best Innovation.

BlockJam Innovators not only offers you the opportunity to win amazing prizes, but also allows you to develop your skills in the video game and virtual environment design. You will be able to work in a team, learn from expert mentors and connect with others passionate about the world of video games. In addition, your project will be evaluated by a jury composed of representatives from IE University and specialists in Minecraft and game design.
