XD Games is about to launch the loosest season yet for Torchlight: Infinite. The Outlaw Season goes live worldwide on July 17 at 7 p.m. (PDT), which is of course 4 a.m. with us on July 18! At the TorchCon event in Shanghai on July 11, it was already clear that this update is shaking up the game considerably.
Outlaw: futuristic crime with style
The new mode revolves around character-driven Carjack missions, in which you raid transports of the ruthless mega-corporation TOWER Co. You hunt down security guards, eliminate them and steal valuable supplies including potentially rare loot if you seize the right opportunities. Your criminal actions lead you Crime Rating up, which unlocks better rewards through Black Market Bounties. But beware: more chaos also means tougher opposition. Sometimes you’ll even run into special transports with a chance of a Chain Multiplication-event, where your loot can add up massively.
Rosa’s revolution: the Unsullied Blade
Rosa undergoes a spectacular transformation via a Mercury Baptism. She returns as the magical knight Unsullied Blade and uses mana to enhance her attacks. In her new form, she summons a Realm of Mercury up, in which enemies take constant damage. Her skills make her a strong and elegant choice for those who love AoE attacks.
Focus Skills take tactical combat to the next level
The Imbue system has been completely overhauled, making way for Focus Skills. These charge via specific triggers and then explode with powerful effects. Whether you do a lot of damage, hit frozen enemies or light fires, each Focus Skill provides unique opportunities for clever and powerful build combinations.
Legendary gear and crafting upgrades
The update introduces impressive Legendary items such as Trinity, a necklace that improves your elemental builds, and Quantum Convergence, a glove that reinforces minion-based play styles. With the new TOWER Sequence-crafting mechanism you can also create unique non-legendary weapons and shields with build-defining qualities.
Loot system and endgame revamped
Rewards become more enticing and less repetitive. Secret Realms appear less frequently, but now give much better loot. In Deep Space, the chance of Sprout of Legends drops even increases by 200%. For the fifty-plus players, there is the Supreme Showdown, including the redesigned General Redscale and the return of the Sons of Rising Tide, for added challenges and adrenaline.
Quality of life gets upgrade
Item recycling can now take place directly in your inventory, with previews of what you get back. You can set your own music as loot drop sound. And improved price comparison in the Trade House makes trading fairer and clearer.
With the Outlaw Season promise Torchlight: Infinite the most exciting update yet: from action-packed carjacks and build depth to blood-curdling endgame challenges. Starting in Amsterdam on July 18 at 04:00 CEST.
