Philips Hue probably know most of you – and no question: the lamps are good. However, the prices are quite steep and for me the point was reached at some point where I had the feeling that I had to spend a fortune if I really want to spice up our home again with light.

Philips Hue vs. Govee: What is better – and why do I prefer GOVEE now?

Let’s stay directly on the subject of brightness, because here has the classic Philips Hue White & Color Ambiance E27 LED-Lampe With 1100 lumens more. Now that comes: In everyday life I have never actually set our lamps to 100% brightness. In the evening I don’t want a bright light and I don’t need that during the day.

At most on the very bad rainy days, you turn up, but I really need the 300 lumens more? I personally say no, but of course that also depends on your home.

I particularly like the Govee standing lamp, because I can even play patterns on her.

What ultimately put me off at Philips Hue was the pricing. A (!) E27 lamp with color costs almost € 53 at Amazon. At Govee I get four lamps for less than 30 €!

But even away from it, Govee offers a huge selection of light bulbs, outside lamps, floor lamps, Gaming or even TV lights for the background. All of this at significantly more frugal prices than the class leader of Philips.

In addition, the Govee app offers a lot of options. I personally will stay with Goveebecause I don’t see the advantage of the gigantic price premium to Philips Hue.
