Guild Esports and Sky launch a Fortnite map

British e-sports organization Guild Esports and the telecommunications company Sky have joined forces to launch a map inside Fortnite. The map, known as Sky Citywill be launched along with a marketing campaign and a series of live broadcasts.

In “Speed Showdown,” players will compete with content creators in a series of on-map challenges. The winners will receive prizes from Sky Broadband, and the highlights from the broadcasts will be promoted through Guild Esports and Sky’s social media channels..

The Fortnite map was created by Guild Studios., the organization’s creative services and production division, in in collaboration with the videogame studio UMI Games. According to a statement, the division intends to use the launch of Sky City ‘to reinforce its position as a leading creator of innovative gaming environments.’

Fortnite continues to serve as a platform for brands to create projects in the video game and eSports sector. In recent months, brands such as Manchester City, Whataburger and Dairy MAX have used the game for various marketing initiatives.
