Grand Theft Auto 6 won’t appear for another year, but fans of Rockstar Games may be able to expect something else before then. According to the well-known Rockstar insider Tez2 is there a current-gen port of Grand Theft Auto 4 in development.
In a post on GTA Forums, he claims that a 2008 version of the popular game for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S al more than a year in development is. The release would possibly still take place this year.
Behind the scenes, Rockstar has reportedly been planning for some time to first GTA 4 to be re-released, followed by a remaster of Max Payne 3, which would coincide with the planned remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 by Remedy Entertainment.
“There have been hints of a GTA 4 port,” Tez2 said. “By this time, it would have been a year in development. If Rockstar follows their old schedule, we will also get a Max Payne 3 port after GTA 4. That also presents an opportunity for a bundle or a Definitive Edition.”
Because since GTA 4’s original release in 2008 has never been re-released (except on PC), a release for the current generation of consoles would be much welcomed by fans. Whether it actually happens remains to be seen.
