God of War has been a huge success for Sony, especially Ragnarok, which has sold more than 15 million units worldwide and recently received its acclaimed Valhalla DLC. However, some are still nostalgic for the old days of God of War, with Kratos traveling through ancient Greece and fighting Zeus and his Pantheon.
Interestingly, according to XboxEra co-founder Nick Baker in a recent podcast, we may see a remaster of the original trilogy in the future. It is coming to PlayStation, although it has not yet been confirmed whether it will be exclusive to PS5 or also launch on PS4. Baker also was not “100 percent sure” whether it would be announced in 2024, let alone launched in the same year or in 2025.
A remaster would be interesting since God of War 1 and 2 got the HD treatment with God of War Collection on the PS3. God of War 3 launched natively on the platform and is included with the God of War Saga (which also includes the first two games and PS3 versions of Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta). As always, stay tuned for more details on this rumored trilogy remaster.
