The esports club GIANTX announces the addition of Closer for its team of LECthe main esports competition in Europe. The Turkish jungler is the first reinforcement announced by GIANTX for the quintet that in 2025 will take part in the international circuit of League of Legends. Closer, a three-time world champion and North American champion, will bring experience to a GIANTX team that dreams of the Worlds.
The League of Legends section of GIANTX has already presented the quintet that will play in the Spanish league, but there are still to be known, at least officially, the pieces that from 2025 will represent the giants in Europe and the world with the beginning of the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) starting in January. Announced the return of AndrĂ© Guilhoto as head of the coaching staff, and confirmed the continuity in the middle of the ‘rookie’ of the year, JackiesCloser, who comes from Karmine Corp.
Can ‘Closer‘ Çelik (Turkey, 1998) is one of the most popular esports players in the Ottoman country. Despite his young age, he is well on his way to a decade as a professional. The jungler has been champion of Turkey and also of North America, where he established himself as a mainstay of the iconic American organization 100 Thieves. This has led him to dispute three League of Legends World Cups (2019, 2021 y 2022). From 100 Thieves he made the jump to Karmine Corp last summer. His impact was immediate and KCorp almost fixed their bad start to the year and went to the finals tournament to qualify for a spot at Worlds.
We are going to have a very young team and Closer will bring us the maturity needed for our good development throughout the season, both on and off the server. We think he fits well with all the pieces and will be the glue to make it work the way we expect it to. He has won a lot, he has fought almost always for the best positions. His track record speaks for itself.
