Galaxy A54 gets preliminary specs, backed up with performance tests

Anticipated to become Samsung’s best-selling phone in 2023, the Galaxy A54 gets a near-complete spec list, adding to performance tests already appearing in the Geekbench catalog.

While Samsung probably won’t give up its minimalist design and plastic finish, the performance leap compared to the current A53 model is announced to be a significant one, with single-core and multi-core scores reaching at least half the level of a 2023 generation flagship.

Key Galaxy a54 specs:

  • 6.4inch FHD+ display (1080×2400 pixels) with Super AMOLED technology and 120Hz refresh rate
  • 5G connectivity, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C, NFC
  • Samsung Exynos 1380 chipset
  • Memory – 6GB RAM + 128GB / 8GB RAM + 256GB
  • OS Android 13 with Samsung One UI 5.0
  • 50MP main camera with optical stabilization (OIS), 12MP ultra-wide camera, 5MP DoF sensor
  • 32MP front camera

Substantially more powerful than its 1200 predecessor, the Exynos 1380 uses an octa-core configuration with four cores performing at 2.4GHz and another four efficient at 2GHz, with a Mali-G68 GPU and benefits from 6 or 8GB of RAM.

Since Samsung guarantees four major system updates, Galaxy A54 buyers will get access up to Android version 17.

Unfortunately, for the Galaxy A54 price and official release date we’ll have to wait for further revelations. For reference, the current A53 model was announced in mid-March 2022 with a suggested price of €329 in base trim.
