Freddy Rincón, in critical condition after a traffic accident

MADRID, 11 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

Former Colombian soccer player Freddy Rincón, who played for Real Madrid in the 1990s, is in a “critical” condition after suffering a “severe” head injury this Monday in a traffic accident in the city of Cali.

According to the newspaper ‘El Tiempo’, Rincón was involved in an accident in which, according to the authorities, four other people were injured. A video of what happened would show the Colombian skipping a traffic light and crashing into a bus.

The former player was immediately transferred to the hospital where the forecasts about his state of health are very worrying. Rincón had to go urgently through the operating room for “severe head trauma” and “his conditions are critical,” Laureano Quintero, the medical chief of the Imbanaco Clinic, said at a press conference, in statements collected by the Colombian newspaper. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit.
