Final Fantasy 16 gets a Day One patch to improve game – That’s Gaming

After previously revealing that Final Fantasy 16 would not have one at launch, the development team confirmed in the game’s Pre-Launch Celebration livestream that there will be a day-one patch. This patch is about 300 MB in size and will be available June 20, optimizing performance in “several places.”

Other improvements include an issue with a control flag that could block progress and another issue that caused the game to exit unexpectedly (both currently occur under “very specific circumstances”). There are also some “minor” text corrections. Performance optimization is perhaps the most important, as the demo’s Performance Mode struggled to maintain a consistent 60 FPS.

Time will tell, so stay tuned for more details. Final Fantasy 16 will launch for PS5 on June 22. Although physical copies are already in circulation, Square Enix will remove any videos, streams or images published before the official release.
