Expedition 33 ahead of game’s release in three weeks – That’s Gaming

New details for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the debut title developed by French independent studio Sandfall Interactive and published by Kepler Interactive (Tchia, Sifu, Pacific Drive), have been revealed ahead of its upcoming April 24 launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S (available from day one with Xbox Game Pass) and PC via Steam and Epic Game Store.

Fans looking forward to the release can now check out the new “Sciel Character Trailer” as part of an ongoing series that spotlights some of the playable characters players can expect to discover. Earlier weeks have already revealed character trailers for Gustave, Maelle and Lune, and fans can also look forward to a trailer featuring Monoco the Gestral next week.

The developers at Sandfall Interactive have also confirmed additional details for players on both PC and console prior to launch so players can prepare for their upcoming expedition to destroy the Painttress and end her curse of death. PC players can tune the game’s graphics to their liking with various in-game settings and presets (ranging from Low to Epic) to find an experience on their hardware that balances both incredible Unreal Engine 5-powered graphics and consistent frame rate for a smooth gameplay experience.

Additionally, console players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X can also look forward to playing the game in Performance or Quality graphics mode to improve frame rate or image resolution, respectively, depending on their preferences. For PlayStation 5 Pro owners, Expedition 33 is PlayStation 5 Pro Enhanced, meaning players on the console can also look forward to enhanced performance, while Xbox players can preload the game now prior to launch and also take advantage of Xbox Play Anywhere capabilities when the game releases later this month. The game’s digital release will be synchronized worldwide to launch at 09:00 CEST, allowing players around the world to begin their expedition and discover the game’s many secrets and surprises together.

Those looking to complete their experience in Expedition 33 can also try to claim the 55 in-game achievements, or 56 trophies when they add the Platinum Trophy on PlayStation 5. Certain achievements/trophies players can work toward to unlock are:

• Expedition Master – Reach level 33.
• Overcharge – With Gustave, use a fully charged Overcharge that breaks an enemy.
• Follow the trail – Find all the journals from previous expeditions.
• Professional – Beat a boss without taking damage.
• Connoisseur – Find all 33 music records.

Players will discover many more achievements/trophies in the game, including awards for various challenges as part of the game’s core story, fully mastering each group member’s unique combat skills, and overcoming challenging optional encounters that put players’ combat skills to the test.
