In case you are completely out of context, Evo is the world’s largest fighting game event. This annual gathering attracts thousands of gamers and accumulates massive viewing figures on various streaming platforms such as Twitch.
A few years ago, Evo was acquired by Sony, making PlayStation its main sponsor. With this in mind, it is interesting that the Xbox fighting game, Killer Instincthas been included this year, albeit as part of the “extended” lineup.
It is also worth mentioning that Evo 2024 was gigantic; it broke the record for the largest number of players at any esports event in history, and Tekken 8in its first appearance at Evo, hosted the largest tournament in the event’s history. It will be interesting to see how this year’s event compares.
