At Saturday’s Eurovision event, Swedish entry Loreen scored her second victory with Tattoo, meaning fans will be heading back to Sweden for the 2024 show.
Sweden’s victory is historic for a number of reasons. It is loreen’s second win as stated, meaning she is the first woman to score two wins at the singing competition. In addition, when the show returns to Sweden next year, it will be 50 years since ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974.
Finland came second in this year’s contest, and despite an overwhelming amount of public support, the judges’ score kept Loreen in first place. The host country fared poorly in the contest, as Britain’s Mae Muller managed only 25th place out of 26 entries.
