Riot Gamesdeveloper of the video game, has announced the official format of the EMEA Masters 2025the most prominent League of Legends events within the EMEA tier two ecosystem. Going forward, the EMEA Regional Leagues (ERL) will follow the three-division structure of the LEC. This means that three EMEA Masters tournaments will be held during the winter, spring and summer divisions. In addition, EMEA Masters will implement the Fearless Draft system in winter.
According to the new format, the EMEA Masters Winterwhich is confirmed to start on March 17, will feature a total of 16 teams competing for the title. The winter champion from each ERL and three additional second seeds will participate, with the teams divided into four groups of four teams.
Following the format of the GSL group stage, participants with the same score will face each other in a best-of-three (BO3) series. Regional protection will be applied to avoid teams from the same region facing each other. The top eight teams will then play a single elimination bracket to determine the EMEA Masters Winter champion.
EMEA Masters Spring will have the same format as Winter with the group stage, but there will be no Fearless Draft mode and the number of participants will increase to 32 squads. Six of the 13 ERLs will get three places based on their historical results in the last two seasons, while the other leagues will get two places. In the playoffs, the top 16 teams will play a best-of-five (BO5) single-elimination playoff.
The final tournament of 2025, the EMEA Masters Summer, will be similar to the previous edition and will feature a total of 44 teams from the ERLs. There will be three berths for each ERL and one additional berth for the top five performing leagues.
As in 2024, the EMEA Masters Summer will kick off with a last chance playoff, where 16 teams will compete in a regionally protected group stage to determine the four group winners who will qualify for the Swiss stage.
In this phase, 32 teams will play teams with the same record that are not from the same region. The teams with four first-place wins will advance to the playoffs, which will crown the EMEA summer champion after a single-elimination bracket of best-of-five (BO5) matches.
