Chevrolet has announced that it will expand its electric vehicle lineup by releasing a new generation of the Bolt. As noted in a press release, this car will be “offer great affordability, range and technology.”
Speaking about the next-generation Bolt, GM Chairman and CEO Mary Barra stated: “We will keep the momentum going by delivering a new Bolt … and we will execute it faster compared to an entirely new program with significantly lower engineering costs and capital investment by updating the vehicle with Ultium and Ultifi technologies and applying our discipline of ‘winning with simplicity.'”
The release states that Chevrolet plans to deliver the car on an advanced timeline. There is no word on exactly when we can expect this updated EV, but we are told it will join Chevy’s lineup of other EVs, which now includes the Silverado EV, Blazer EV and the Equinox EV.
