Carrie Fisher finally gets her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame -.

Yesterday, while Star Wars fans had no new movie or TV show announcements coming their way, May 4 was still worth celebrating when the late and beloved actress Carrie Fisher received her posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

We reported last month on the announcement that Fisher will get her Hollywood star , and now that day has arrived. Fisher was honored by her daughter Billie Lourd and her longtime co-star Mark Hamill, who delivered a speech he prepared shortly after her death in 2016. A large group of Star Wars fans were also joined by R2-D2, C-3PO, a pair of Stormtroopers, J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy.

“It’s sad that she’s not with us today – that would have made it perfect – but she wouldn’t want us to be sad. She would want us to have fun, she would want us to laugh,” Hamill said at the event.

Thanks, Reuters.
