Call of Duty Challengers format and FACEIT integration unveiled

Call of Duty (CoD) Challengersthe title’s competitive esports series, has unveiled its format for the 2024 season. Starting this year, the qualifiers Challenger and Elite of the series, will be organized in collaboration with the online video game platform FACEIT.

Call of Duty Challengers is Activision Blizzard’s grassroots CoD ecosystem. The competition offers aspiring professional gamers opportunities to build experience and reputation as they aspire to enter the Call of Duty League. Since its announcement in 2019, online tournament website GameBattles has been the home of CoD Challengers. However, the company shut down on January 15 of this year.

ESL FACEIT Group has stated that Call of Duty Challenger tournaments will not use the FACEIT Anti-Cheat system. However, the platform stressed that an experienced tournament operations team will aim to ensure a consistent, quality experience that the competitive CoD community is accustomed to.

The CoD Challengers season 2024 will start with the Challenger qualifiersfollowed by the first of the eleven Challengers Cups online on January 20.. Both the qualifiers and the Cups are open to players from North America, Europe, LATAM and the Asia-Pacific region.

In 2024, the following will also be held two Challengers Opens organized by the Boston Breach in Major I and the Toronto Ultra at Major II. The CoD Challengers Elite tournaments will have three seasons. both for North America and Europe. Elite has been expanded to two groups of six teams per season.

CoD Challengers 2024 will culminate with the Finals.which will follow be held with 16 teams from the four regions. Teams will be able to qualify for the finals via the Regional Qualifiers, Opens or the Last Chance Qualifier.

FACEIT is an online competitive gaming platform founded in 2011. Since 2022, the brand is part of the ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), backed by Saudi Arabia, along with other veteran esports brands such as ESL Gaming and Dreamhack.
