BLAST Premier Rivals heads to Monterrey, Mexico

The esports tournament organizer, BLASThas announced that its BLAST Premier Rivals is moving to Monterrey, Mexico, in 2025. From April 30 to May 4, 2025, eight Counter-Strike teams will compete on the GNP Seguros Stage. BLAST will host the event in partnership with Latin American esports organization Ace Leaguewhich has organized competitions of various titles in the region.

In addition to unveiling the location of the BLAST Premier Rivals event, event organizers also confirmed that participating teams will compete for $1M to be shared.

Bringing the inaugural BLAST Premier Rivals to Monterrey marks a historic moment for Mexico and Latin America. We are excited to help transform the GNP Seguros Stage in Pavilion M from an iconic theater to an esports arena that will provide a global platform for the world’s best Counter-Strike players. According to a statement, hosting the event in Monterrey will provide the city with significant economic benefits. Thanks to attendance at the event and investment in the local area, the city is expected to see $12.5M generated by the event.

BLAST Premier Rivals 2025 Format

The inaugural BLAST Premier Rivals event will see teams ranked first through fourth in Valve’s global ranking system compete against four invited teams. A best-of-three (BO3) GSL format will be used to determine the six teams that qualify for the playoffs.

The first two days of the event will be played behind closed doors. However, the final three days at the GNP Seguros Stage will offer tickets for fans to attend. At this time, G2 Esports, Spirit, The MongolZ and FaZe Clan are the top four ranked teams according to Valve’s rankings. However, notable tournaments such as IEM Katowice 2025 are still to be played. BLAST has not yet revealed the four invited teams.
