Lidl will be selling a novel gadget from Monday 3 October: a digital weighing spoon.
The device is useful in the kitchen for recipes requiring small amounts of ingredients and can replace a pocket electronic scale or estimating “by eye”. With this device, substances such as sugar, flour or flour meal can be taken directly from their container without the need for an intermediate bowl to put them on the scale.
The spoon has scales for 15, 30, 45 ml or 1, 2, 3 teaspoons. The device can hold a maximum weight of 300 grams.
The spoon with scale measures 25.3 x 6.3 x 3 cm, weighs 67 grams and is battery operated. The spoon part can be removed and cleaned in the dishwasher.
The handle is made of stainless steel and the three available buttons are made of rubber. Information is displayed on a monochrome screen. The device switches off automatically after a period of non-use.
The product comes with a 3-year warranty.
The device, offered under the Silvercrest Kitchen Tools brand, will cost 35 lei.
