The Belarusian Army has started this Thursday maneuvers that will last until September 14 and are aimed at carrying out combat operations aimed at liberating areas temporarily occupied by “enemies”, within the framework of tensions in the area due to the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Armed Forces.
“The maneuvers will allow in practice to work on the implementation of special combat operations to liberate the territory temporarily captured by the enemy,” the Belarusian Defense Ministry has said, before detailing that the maneuvers will take place in Brest, Minsk and Vitebsk, BelTA Belarusian news agency has reported.
Thus, he stressed that the tasks will also include “regaining control of the state border in the areas of responsibility, providing air support to the troops, ensuring martial law by force and combating illegal armed groups and formations of the enemy”.
“The main goal of the exercise is to teach the military command corps of the Armed Forces and other troops and military formations of Belarus uninterrupted force management while carrying out tasks,” he has zanelled.
