At least six people have been killed and 15 injured after an explosion occurred on a bus at a gas station in the Sir Daria region of eastern Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan’s Emergencies Ministry said Thursday that the gas tank of a bus exploded at around 14.30 local time (13.30 Spanish peninsular time) when it was filled with methane, after refueling the vehicle.
According to preliminary information, 6 people died on the spot and 15 people were injured as a result of the incident, the ministry has made known on its Facebook account.
The portfolio has also indicated in its statement that the authorities are conducting an investigation into the causes of the incident.
