At least five injured after shooting on Coney Island boardwalk in New York City, U.S.

At least five people have been injured Sunday in a shooting on the Coney Island boardwalk in the U.S. city of New York.

The NYPD is still trying to identify the suspect who triggered the shooting, which occurred around 2:00 a.m. (local time) this morning and resulted in two women and three men injured, as reported by the US network CNN.

Among the wounded is a 31-year-old man who is in critical condition in hospital after being shot in the back, police said.

The other four victims are in stable condition. A 27-year-old woman who has been shot in the leg, a 26-year-old woman with another shot in the leg, a 36-year-old man who has been shot, and a 19-year-old man shot in the leg, according to police sources picked up by ‘New York Post’.

Authorities have explained that a large group of people were gathered on the Brooklyn boardwalk at the time when someone has started shooting.
