A Minecraft Movie is trying to capitalize on the memes caused by the film’s rules and existence with new screenings of block parties starting May 2 in the US.
We’ve already seen a screening at an Odeon in Australia that embraced people throwing popcorn, getting loud and repeating the rules in A Minecraft Movie, and now theaters in America will soon do the same.
After the release of A Minecraft Movie, fans immediately flocked to movie theaters to repeat famous lines such as “I…. Am Steve,” “Chicken Jockey” and more. Once these climactic moments appeared on screen, all hell broke loose.
However, as Variety reports, after initial warnings and moviegoers being banned because of this disruptive behavior, block party screenings will instead encourage it. However, since the Internet moves so quickly beyond trends these days, we’ll have to see if this can mimic the Chicken Jockey spark.
