The Galaxy Tab S8, the premium model for 2022, has been launched to compete with Apple’s iPad Pro series. It came with powerful hardware, productivity accessories, and a S-Pen stylus. Coming as a compromise solution, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite makes some compromises on the performance side, but keeps most of the advantages appreciated by the non-Lite model, convincing instead with a practically reduced price by half.
Of course, the strengths of the Galaxy Tab S8 are performance and battery life. But the Lite model is no exception. Powered by the Snapdragon 720G chipset, also used with some mid-range Samsung phones, the tablet with 4GB of RAM has more than enough power for the Android 10 system, common applications for productivity and gaming.
The 10.4 ”screen is of the LCD type and offers a resolution high enough (2000 × 1200 pixels) to not be able to reproduce the clarity of the image. Of course, there is no shortage of support for the S Pen accessory, but it is unclear whether it will be included in the standard package, or will be delivered as a separate accessory.
The list of features is complete with 64GB or 128GB internal storage, microSD slot (up to 128GB), GPS receiver, NFC support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a 5MP front camera and 8MP main camera, unfortunately without LED flash.
The 465-gram tablet uses an aluminum case that houses a 7040 mAh battery, enough for about two days of moderate use. Samsung Adaptive Fast Charge technology ensures fast charging using the USB-C cable. Sore comparison, the more expensive model comes with 8000 mAh battery.
