French player Marwan “Wawa” Berthe won the event, establishing himself as one of the best players in the world.
In addition to 2XKO, the event also featured several classics from the FGC scene, such as Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8. The Tekken 8 event at Evo France 2025 saw the takeoff of Neia, a 16-year-old who made it to the second day of competition before finishing in 17th place.

Evo in 2025
Beyond its esports events, 2025 has been a year of change for Evo. In August, NODWIN Gaming became the tournament’s majority shareholder after acquiring the stake previously held by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE).
In September, Saudi megaproject Qiddiya acquired the entirety of RTS, operator of the Evo tournament, in a deal that allows the megaproject to expand its stake in the FGC and the esports industry in general.
In addition to the change in ownership, the event continues to expand worldwide. In 2027, Evo debuts in Southeast Asia with the inaugural Evo Singapore.
