The expansion is free for all players of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Valley of Memory adds six hours of narrative gameplay and takes place before the denouement of the main story. The update with the expansion rolls out automatically for players on all platforms.
Developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and Ubisoft Paris*, Valley of Memory immerses players in 9th-century AlUla, a beautiful and ancient valley full of history on the Arabian Peninsula. This new storyline and setting invite players to unravel the mystery of Basim’s long-lost father as they explore a brand new gaming environment full of iconic landmarks, including the ancient city of AlUla, the remarkable rock monuments of the Ramm Valley and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed necropolis of Hegra. The expansion also includes new missions, contracts, side quests and collectibles.
The update also brings gameplay improvements that apply to both AlUla and Baghdad. Some of these improvements include:
- Replayable missions and challenges
All black box missions and contracts in Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Valley of Memory can be replayed after players complete them once. - Parkour updates
New gameplay features enhance the parkour experience in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Players manually choose their jumps and compose their own free-running sequences. A new control scheme allows for smoother movement between rooftops. Sideways and backwards jumps now respond directly to input, without Basim needing a specific landing spot. - New skills and customization options.
A new skill called Engineer 2 has been added to Basim’s skill tree, allowing him to apply all level 1 adaptations to his tools. In addition, level 3 adaptations have been added to all tools. - New difficulty levels
Players who want a custom challenge will choose from two new difficulty levels to determine exactly how challenging their experience will be. - New gameplay filters
In addition to the original Assassin’s Creed Legacy gameplay filter, which allows players to experience Assassin’s Creed Mirage through the gray-blue lens of the first Assassin’s Creed game, players will now have access to four more filters inspired by Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Brendan Angelides, the composer of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, is also back with a new album of 14 songs, including a new Main Theme. To bring his vision to life, Angelides once again collaborated with violinist and composer Layth Sidiq and orchestrator Akram Haddad. The songs reflect Basim’s quest for truth and his search for the missing pieces of his past. The album Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Valley of Memory (Original Game Soundtrack) will be available Nov. 21 on all music platforms and YouTube.
