Only today did I hear from Labubu. A post on Reddit made fun that Dubai chocolate was made in a label form. Only now do I notice that two huge Tikok trends have been combined here. From the beginning, let’s clarify what the original is. The manufacturer Pop Mart comes from China and sells a number of sweet figures that simply called “The Monsters”. The best known figure is Labubu, which was created by the Hong Kong children’s book authors Kasing Lung. Lung was inspired by Scandinavian myths, which is why the figure is more based on a troll than on a rabbit.

In addition to Labubu, there are many other figures from “The Monsters” and they are sold in various series such as “Have a Seat” or “Big into Energy”. But they achieved the big hype in the »Exciting Macaron«-Series. The series each have six “open” figures and a seventh surprise figure that is far less common. The originals on Amazon are completely sold out.

Labubu or Lafufu? Tricks with names ceiling fakes

The only source from which you really get the original label on Amazon is that Pop mart’s shop side. But if you type in the search “Labubuz”, fakes come towards you relatively quickly. The brazen: Some fakes use the direct name Labubu, without amendment. As I write here, even the Amazon bestseller in the category “soft and fabric dolls” is a fake, so have been warned:

Another trick is the naming of the figures as »Lafufu«. The name does not come from somewhere, because This is how the fake label is called by the fan community. Some dealers on Amazon do not seem to have a problem with it and pack the fake name in the product description. Until recently, I would have thought that “Lafufu” is a uninterred form of labubu, so maybe some really fall into it.
