PUBG Mobile World Cup sweepstakes sets the stage for Esports World Cup with $3M prize pool

The PUBG MOBILE World Cup is back with its second edition, as flagship event of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, with the GROUP DRAW setting the stage for the 24 champions of the regional leagues to begin their fight for a share of the $3M prize.

Teams earned their spots in the spring and early summer qualifiers of the PUBG MOBILE Super League, Challengers League and other regional competitions. They were slotted into five groups based on those results before being drawn into three eight-team brackets: Red, Yellow and Green.

The group stage will be played from July 25-27, with each group facing off in six daily matches under the updated SMASH rules. To be proclaimed champion early, a team must beat the second day 2’s leading score by 10 points, and then secure victory in a match. If no team reaches that threshold in 18 matches, the championship goes to the team with the highest cumulative score.

Among the most prominent participants in the Red Group are Team Falcons, Fire Flux Esports, and Nongshim RedForce, while the Yellow Group has Alter Ego Ares, POWR Esports and DRX. The Green Group counts IDA Esports, Weibo Gaming and TT Global among its members.

After the group stage, the top eight teams will advance directly to the grand finals, which will be held from August 1-3. The remaining 16 teams will participate in the two-day Survivor Phase from July 29-30, where they will have one last chance to reach the top of the season. Each match is very important as the competitors fight to extend their participation in the tournament.
