YouTube Rickrolls us for its 20th anniversary –

YouTube is turning 20 years old. It feels both older and younger because it has been around for so long and yet has changed so many times during its time on the Internet that it occasionally feels fresh.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, you’ll find a new link on the YouTube home page asking you to click on it to cut the cake. If you were a silly fool like me and clicked on the link, you will be taken to a special version of Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up, which mimics the lyrics with spliced clips of creators past and present.

There’s also a special cameo from Mr. Astley himself, congratulating YouTube on 20 years and wishing it a happy birthday. It’s only a minute, and if you miss content somewhat reminiscent of the YouTube rewind of yesteryear, check out the clip below:
