Psychic Software has announced that The Necromancer’s Tale, their upcoming top-down, narrative gothic RPG with isometric perspective, will officially release on July 17 for PC via Steam. In honor of this announcement, the team has released a brand new release date trailer, along with an in-depth, 7-minute voice-over video that explains the core mechanics, combat system and unique necromantic gameplay.
Set in an alternate version of 18th-century Italy, offers The Necromancer’s Tale players a layered narrative revolving around the dark path of necromancy – not as a power fantasy, but as a descent into moral compromise, secrecy and transformation.
You play as a lowly nobleman with an uncommon talent, who is drawn into the hidden world of death magic and the political intrigues involved. Inspired by the narrative depth of Disco Elysium and the strategic design of Pillars of Eternity, this is a gothic RPG in which your words can be as deadly as your spells.
