Mario vs. Donkey Kong announced for Nintendo Switch and released Feb. 16 – That’s Gaming

As recent leaks indicated, Nintendo has indeed revealed a new Donkey Kong game during the recent Nintendo Direct – more or less. The Japanese publisher announced Mario vs. Donkey Kong, the first game in that particular series of games in several years.

As the name suggests, Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a complete remake of the original Game Boy Advance title and aims to offer classic, familiar mechanics from previous Donkey Kong games. Mario will complete obstacle courses and solve puzzles on his way to a battle with Donkey Kong himself, while the game’s announcement trailer also shows glimpses of mini toy Mario’s.

The visual style is also striking, with a 3D, toy-like look for the characters and the environments themselves. It’s certainly a unique look for a Mario vs. Donkey Kong game. Check out the announcement trailer below.
