Record for highest speed by an indoor vehicle broken by Formula E car -.

If there is one area where electric cars show considerable dominance over internal combustion engine cars, it is in raw acceleration. Electric powered vehicles often have very fast 0-60 mph times, rivaling those of hypercars, and this has been proven in the past as the former record holder for the fastest indoor speed, something completed over a quarter mile straight, was held by Porshce’s Taycan. That record has since been pulverized.

The Taycan managed to complete the feat by setting a speed of 102.7 mph. Since then, Formula E has taken it upon itself to set a new record, and has done so by using a version of the Gen 3 -car with no competition restrictions in place. This allowed the short-distance race car to clock off at 135.9 mph, destroying Porsche’s record.

The driver behind the wheel was Jake Hughes of Neom McLaren Formula E, and he completed the feat at the ExCeL Arena in London, the venue where the next two rounds of Formula E will be held this weekend.
