Despite being present last year, THQ Nordic has revealed that it will not be present at Gamescom 2023 in the B2C or B2B areas. In an official announcement, the company confirmed that it is discontinuing “all major activities related to shows” this year and Gamescom is not an exception. However, it may have a presence at next year’s show.
The good news is that they still have announcements to make, with a showcase on August 11 at noon PDT. It will be broadcast live on YouTube and Twitch, but they have not yet announced which games will be in attendance. Last year, titles announced included SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed, The Valiant, and so on.
Stay tuned for more announcements from this year’s show. THQ Nordic joins companies such as Sony, which will also be absent from this year’s show. However, fans can look forward to companies such as Nintendo, Microsoft and Bethesda who will be in attendance. Gamescom Opening Night Live is also confirmed to return on Aug. 22.
