Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s map size is similar to Assassin’s Creed Revelations and Unity – That’s Gaming

After releasing three massive open world action RPGs with Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed is ready to return to its roots with its next installment. Scheduled for October, Assassin’s Creed Mirage looks to offer a tighter, more compact and smaller experience – but how big can we expect the open-world setting of 9th-century Baghdad to be?

According to the developers, there are a few previous volumes in the franchise that players can use to get a good idea of the size of Mirage’s map. In a recent hands-on impression video, Michael Huber of Easy Allies said the developers told him that Baghdad in Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be about the same size as Constantinople in Assassin’s Creed Revelations and Paris in Assassin’s Creed Unity.

Of course, the two aforementioned open world maps were in no way small, but at the very least, those who worried that Mirage would feel overly bloated and unnecessarily large (as has often been the case with Ubisoft games in recent years) will probably be relieved to hear that this will likely not be the case.

Earlier this year, the creative director of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Stéphane Boudon, said that the development team of the action-adventure game had decided to design it as a more “intimate” and “focused” experience because of fan criticism of some of the more bloated recent installments in the series. Meanwhile, it was also previously confirmed that Mirage will have a much shorter play time than games like Odyssey and Valhalla, at around 15-20 hours.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released on Oct. 12 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
