Watch comparison: On the left, the washed-out display of the Apple Watch with the green tint. (Source: Reddit, Whosyourdaddy)
Operating system updates on smartphones and watches are actually a reason to celebrate. Since yesterday, however, some Apple Watch owners have been complaining about a bug that WatchOS 9.5 brings with it.
In the window for entering the unlock code and in the control center, the display turns green (as shown in the picture above). First macrumors reported about it.
Who is affected?
Apparently all models from the Series 8 down are affected. The phenomenon occurs more often with older devices. Based on the user reports, it can be seen that the bug occurs less in the SE and Ultra models.
Those affected describe that the screen looks like an old, washed-out LCD. By the way, changing the watch face does not bring any success.

What can I do?
For some owners, restarting the watch fixed the issue. Others were unsuccessful. Apparently putting the watch in focus mode helps Sleep
to move, but that doesn’t fix the problem. But it helps as a workaround to temporarily get rid of the green tint.
The exact cause is currently unclear. Since this seems to be a bug, the green cast screen issue may be fixed with the next update to 9.6. It is not yet clear when this will come. The update is currently in beta.
After the latest WatchOS update, Apple Watches show green cast displays. Do you have the same problem on your watch? If so, can you fix the problem with a reboot? Or have you been spared? Do you think Apple could push an update to fix the problem? Feel free to exchange ideas in the comments.
