Esports curriculum at Angus schools

The Angus elementary schools have been associated with Esports Scotland, Dundee and Angus College and the Scottish Schools Education Research Centre (SSERC). to develop a curriculum centered on the esports.

The curriculum introduces children to e-sports by teaching them about the fundamentals of the game, teamwork and sportsmanship. It also explores the history and progression of the same, the different types and genres of game and their importance in different areas of the industry.

In addition, students will have the opportunity to improve their gaming skills while learning the value of the strategic thinking and interpersonal skills.. The curriculum also includes interactive activities and exercises. to keep children engaged and motivated throughout the program.

At the end of the curriculum, students will have the opportunity to. compete, attend workshops and network with other students. Who follow esports courses at Dundee and Angus College. It is worth mentioning that Scotland’s first e-sports related degree will start in August 2023.

Last but not least, all participating students. will be awarded the Young STEM Leader level 2 award, granted by SSERC.and the schools will advance towards the Education Scotland STEM Nation.

Angus primary schools have joined the growing list of UK educational institutions offering specialist eSports courses and resources. Not long ago, Sheffield Hallam University introduced dedicated eSports facilities on its campus to enhance its Esports Management degree.
