Games have a hand in making players fight spiders of all shapes and sizes, but of course there are plenty of people who have a significant fear of the eight-legged insects. If you belong to that group and that fear stays with you (at least to some extent) when you play a game, then the recent trend of games like Grounded and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor adding optional Arachnophobia modes has probably been to your liking.
Another game is now following in their footsteps. Avalanche Software recently released a huge patch for its open-world action-RPG, and that update also added an Arachnophobia mode to the game. Enabling the switch changes the appearance of all spiders in the game, makes all static spider corpses invisible, and reduces and removes spider skitters and cries.
There are of course many spider enemies in Hogwarts Legacy, so if you’d rather not experience that, fortunately there is an option in the game to alleviate that.
Hogwarts Legacy is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and PC. It will be released for the Nintendo Switch on July 25.
