With another week left until the official launch event, the Galaxy S23 Ultra appears in more and more hands-on videos, showing off the retail package and the experience promised by the new photo setup.
Expected to launch on February 1, the Galaxy S23 Ultra can already be seen in detailed images, showing the differences from its predecessor S22 Ultra.
Instead of coming up with trenchant changes, Samsung has merely refined the previous design, aiming for the best possible balance between functionality and aesthetics.
In other images, we can admire four of the color versions prepared: Phantom Black, Botanic Green, Cotton Flower and Lilac, all with semi-stick matte finish and glass substrate. Another interesting detail is that the S Pen accessory won’t be the same color as the phone, with Samsung only trimming the finish visible when removed from the carrying case. Instead, the body of the S Pen has a matte-black, smudge-resistant finish.
Another highlight, the periscope camera with up to 100X zoom (3X optical zoom) is shown in good lighting conditions, demonstrating a very effective image stabilisation function. However, image sharpness isn’t great at full zoom.
Capable of taking 50MP resolution pictures even in low light, the included camera for the S23 and S23 Plus series is backed up by a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 12MP front camera. But the piece de resistance will certainly be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, delivered in “overclock” version, with slightly higher performance than we can find in the latest phone models equipped with the new Qualcomm solution.
