Galaxy A34 appears in unofficial images. What’s new

Compared to its predecessor A33, the Galaxy A34 is noticeably larger and comes in taking over the design of the current Galaxy Ultra series, ditching the camera “island”.

Launched in March 2022, the Galaxy A33 appeared as a “paler” version of the Galaxy A53, with a significantly inferior processor and screen. Breaking “tradition”, the successor Galaxy A34 looks set to be much closer to the top-equipped A54, with the main difference being the screen replacing the centrally applied perforation with a less elegant “Infinity-U” cutout. Viewed from the back, the phone will display the same design with individually delineated camera lenses, leaving little to differentiate the “poor man’s” model from the version aimed at mid-budget buyers.

Expected early next year, the Galaxy A34 looks like it will be released in a single, 5G version. The new smartphone comes in a case measuring 161.3 x 77.7 x 8.2 mm, appearing noticeably larger than the previous model. Framed by a slightly narrower bezel with infinity-U cutout, the LCD screen combines FHD+ resolution with an increased diagonal too at 6.5 inches (up from 6.4 inches for the A33).

At 0.1mm thicker, the Galaxy A34 could supplement the 5000mAh battery capacity offered with the current model, thus appealing to buyers in emerging markets (e.g. India) who prefer phones with the longest battery life possible.
