Oppo Find X6 Pro gets preliminary specs list

The Oppo Find X6 Pro joins the group of phones equipped with IMX989, Sony’s new 1-inch sensor optimized for maximizing image quality.

According to as-yet-unconfirmed official specs, the Oppo Find X6 Pro will have no less than three photo modules capable of taking pictures at 50-megapixel resolution. Of these, the main camera based on the IMX989 sensor will have a maximum resolution of 160 megapixels, but pictures taken in normal use could even go down to 16 megapixels, using the specially developed pixel-binning process to maximize light sensitivity. In other words, the megapixel rush is pretty much over, with the next generation of flagship phones putting a greater emphasis on improving image quality.

The secondary sensors will probably have ultrawide and periscope lenses, with the zoom level unknown for the latter.

Not much different from its X5 Pro predecessor, the Oppo Find X6 Pro also comes with a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display, with the Chinese manufacturer preferring to make only fine-grained improvements.

It’s unclear for now whether the Oppo Find X6 Pro will use the premium Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 solution offered by Qualcomm, or the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 alternative, offering almost the same level of performance but at a lower cost.

As for the software side, it’s virtually a certainty that Oppo will ship the new Find X6 series with ColorOS 13 firmware (based on Android 13) pre-installed straight from the factory.
