Quentin Tarantino’s seven “perfect” movies

Quentin Tarantino recently said what he thinks are the seven perfect movies.

The director spoke about cinematic works on Jimmy Kimmel Live, which he attended to promote his book Cinema Speculation.

The first perfect film Tarantino talked about is “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” (1974), directed by Tobe Hooper.

Asked by the show’s host what other “perfect” films there are, the director replied, “Well, there aren’t many – and that shows that filmmaking is a difficult art form.”

Tarantino says that you can categorize as such those films that aren’t to everyone’s taste, but about which you can’t say anything bad that would bring them down.

Here are six other perfect movies, according to the man who directed Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds:

  • “Jaws” (1975)
  • “The Exorcist” (1973)
  • “Annie Hall” (1977)
  • “Young Frankenstein” (1974)
  • “Back to the Future” (1985)
  • “The Wild Bunch” (1969)

You may be wondering, who does Tarantino think is the best actor in the world? The director has said as much in the past. His favorite is Robert DeNiro. “I think he’s the best actor in the world. I’ve never seen an actor who so completely transforms himself into the character,” Tarantino explained.

“Cinema Speculation,” which is partly a biography of the director, has become a best seller on Amazon, where it can be purchased for $22 in physical format and for $12.41 in Kindle format.
