What you can watch on Disney+ this Halloween: movies that are only good for “scaring you”

Although it is relatively new on the Romanian market, Disney+ has managed to attract a large number of subscribers, among the movie and series enthusiasts in our country.

Thus, like any other streaming service, Disney+ has an impressive collection of productions that are only good to watch in the upcoming period when people around the world celebrate Halloween, when the undead, ghosts and witches go for a “walk” in the world of the living.

What Disney+ has for you this Halloween

Of course, we’re not necessarily talking about new productions, but movies that if you haven’t seen at the time, or want to revisit in a Halloween-friendly context, now’s your chance, on Disney+.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), directed by Henry Selick, made history in its day, and you can (re)see it on this streaming network.

Also on the Disney+ list, especially for Halloween, is Hocus Pocus, also from 1993, starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy, Omri Katz, Thora Birch and Vinessa Shaw.

Hocus Pocus 2, from 2022, can also be seen on Disney+, as the film is the long-awaited sequel to the first part, from 1993.

If you have an affinity for older films, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, starring the late Angela Lansbury, comes in to activate the nostalgia factor.

Angelina Jolie fans will be pleased to know that Maleficent is also on the list of “scary” Halloween movies.

Of course, there’s no shortage of animations either, and the best of them all, Coco, will manage to squeeze a few tears out of you and tell you all about Mexican Halloween.

Also in the blockbuster animation category is Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, the director who needs no introduction.

Other productions in this category: The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, The Black Cauldron, Into the Woods (starring Meryl Streep, Chris Pine, Johnny Depp, Anna Kendrick and Emily Blunt), Muppets Haunted Mansion and Halloweentown.

As you’ve probably already noticed, all of these films are in the category suitable for absolutely everyone in the family to watch, regardless of age.
