The Creative Arts Emmys have named their winners: Barack Obama, the first US President to win an award

The Primetime Emmy Awards will be handed out on September 12, but the trophies have already been awarded.

The Creative Arts Emmys honor artistic and technical achievement in a variety of television programming genres, as well as outstanding work in categories such as animation, reality and documentary.

On this occasion, Barack Obama became the first U.S. President to win an Emmy Award as the narrator of the Netflix documentary Our Great National Parks.

Who triumphed at the Creative Arts Emmys

The judges were generous with a number of animations, many of them from Netflix (The Boy Surviror, Happy Progress Day!, When These Walls Come Tumbling Down, The House, Love, Death, Robots). However, a Prime Video production, The Boy Presents: Diabolical – Boys in 3D, also made it onto the list.

Best Costume was in Evansville, Indiana (from HBO Max and HBO), Best Hairstyling in Annie! Live (from NBC), while the make-up category was dominated by Legendary – Whorror House (HBO/HBO Max).

In the reality category, National Geographic’s Life Below Zero proved the best, going head-to-head with The Amazing Race or RuPaul’s Drag Race (VH1).

Disney+ also entered the competition, taking an award for The Beatles: Get Back. The documentary also stood out in the category: exceptional audio editing, where it won another award.

The most highly rated anthology limited series was The White Lotus – Maredith Tucker and Katie Doyle, this HBO Max production taking on Netflix’s acclaimed Inventing Anna.

FX brought in the best Sci-Fi costumes this year, which is why it has an award in this catephor for What Do We Do in the Shadows.

Best TV Movie is on Disney+ and is called Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers.
