At least four people have been injured in an explosion at the international cricket stadium in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul, sports authorities have confirmed pending an investigation into the incident.
The casualty toll has been confirmed by Afghanistan Cricket Board chief executive Nasib Jan Zadran, who added that neither players nor foreign spectators were injured, Afghan news agency Ariana reported.
Taliban authorities have not commented on the incident.
The match was part of Afghanistan’s premier domestic cricket league, which began last July 18 after a two-year hiatus due to armed conflict.
