It’s already known that Tom Cruise pulls his own stunts, but what you’ll see below defies the norm as you know it.
New Top Gun commercial: Maverick, which premiered on Paramount+ on December 22, made its NFL debut.
In the TV spot, Tom Cruise appears in a flying vehicle, preparing to jump out of it, in South Africa, while letting us know he is in the middle of filming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One & Two.
What Tom Cruise told fans
“I didn’t want to end the year without thanking you all for going to the theaters and thanking you for the support you showed for Top Gun: Maverick,” he said.
It didn’t take long and director Christopher McQuarrie tapped Cruise on the shoulder to remind him that he was there too.
As Cruise was free-falling, he added: “Thank you for supporting Top Gun: Maverick and thank you for allowing us to entertain you, it’s truly a great honor. I’m very lucky!”.
At one point, Tom Cruise can be heard announcing to his fans that he’s losing altitude, so he wishes them happy holidays and invites them to keep going to the cinema to see upcoming films.
Here’s how, with a simple short film, Tom Cruise proves how relevant he is as an actor, even now in 2022. In case you didn’t know, the actor is in his 60s and can boast some remarkable stunts.
In other words, while he’s not arguably the most talented actor, in terms of acting, we have to commend him for his stunts and, not least, the courage and passion with which he performs them.
