Glass Onion is the first of two Knives Out sequels made for Netflix, following a deal the streamer struck in March 2021 for more than $400 million. Johnson directed from his own script and produced alongside Ram Bergman, as he did on the original film.

It remains to be seen if the new film will live up to the standards of its predecessor.
