Following the multi-year partnership of Riot Games with the Esports World Cup Foundationthe esports festival will feature an official VALORANT tournament for the first time this year. Here’s everything we know so far about VALORANT Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025, which will be held July 8-13.
As part of Saudi Arabia’s annual government-backed esports event, VALORANT EWC will be held at Riyadh City Boulevard in Riyadh. Under Riot’s agreement with the main organizer, competitions for VALORANT and the developer’s two other flagship titles, League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics, are confirmed through 2027.
While neither the prizes nor the teams that will participate in the VALORANT EWC have yet to be revealed, expect more details to be announced as the date of the event approaches.
Format
The first VALORANT EWC competition will be held approximately one month after the Masters Toronto, the second VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) international tournament of the year. The VALORANT EWC will feature 16 teams competing in four double-elimination brackets, each with four participants. The top two teams from each group will advance to the single-elimination playoffs.
Match formats have not yet been revealed. However, VALORANT tournaments usually include best-of-three (BO3) matches, except for the best-of-five (BO5) Grand Final.
Schedule
The six-day tournament will begin on July 8 with 12 group stage matches. Four Group Stage matches will be played on the second and third days, respectively. The knockout phase will begin on the fourth day with the four quarterfinal matches. Two Semifinal matches will be played on day 5, followed by the Grand Final on July 13.
How to watch
Although not yet confirmed, the main broadcast language will most likely be English. Games will be streamed on the official EWC Twitch channel or on a dedicated VALORANT EWC channel similar to Counter-Strike and Dota 2.
