Never get stuck again: Evercross street-legal e-scooters
This week I’ve seen an unusual number of broken bottles along the way. Since I am currently also looking for a suitable e-scooter, this offer immediately caught my eye. The EV10K PRO from Evercross initially looks like any other e-scooter, of which there are currently quite a few.
At second glance, it becomes clear what sets this scooter apart from the competition: complete suspension, disc brakes & airless tires – you no longer have to worry about broken glass or sharp-edged pebbles!
One disc brake, which is also installed in some other models, will bring you to a standstill more quickly than a drum brake, but also deprives the scooter of the possibility of energy recovery via the brakes. With the mass of driver + scooter and a speed of 20km/h, the potential energy recovery should also be limited.
Due to the airless 10 inch tires, which rely on a honeycomb structure for their stability, tiresome maintenance work is no longer necessary and flat tires are a thing of the past. E-scooters without suspension rely entirely on conventional, air-filled tires for their driving comfort, which have a certain spring potential at low air pressure.
The Evercross e-scooter cannot rely on the air in the tires to ensure sufficient driving comfort. This is compensated by the suspension system, which consists of a hydraulic Suspension fork at the front and a spiral suspension at the rear consists. The scooter thus achieves a pleasant driving experience even on bumps.
The range of the EV10K PRO is with up to 35 km reasonable for its price. In order to be able to be sold with a road permit and driven without a driver’s license, an e-scooter must not be able to drive faster than 20 km/h in Germany. Of course, this model pushes that limit to the limit.
Like many other e-scooters, the EV10K PRO is already street legal. You only have to attach the insurance sticker for around €25 per year yourself. But you can easily order it online and have it delivered.
