New announcements about the future of The Crew franchise were made during The Crew Showcase 2024, including the gameplay reveal of The Crew Motorfest’s massive Year 2 content update. Year 2 starts on Nov. 5, and the development team gave players a thorough overview of what to expect.
During the showcase, the team also revealed its continued commitment to ensuring long-term access to both The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest. Both games will remain playable and will include an offline mode in the future. Players who haven’t gotten behind the wheel yet will benefit from the biggest discounts ever on The Crew 2 (now temporarily available for $1) and The Crew Motorfest. In addition, all The Crew 2 players will get access to four vehicles for just one Crew Credit, to kickstart their adventures on land, sea and air.
Starting Nov. 6, all players of The Crew Motorfest will be able to roam the island of Maui for free, giving the island more than 100 square miles of new on- and off-road fun, which is nearly 50% the size of O’ahu. Getting from one island to another will be a seamless experience, as Maui will be accessible by sea, air or road via a new bridge, with no loading screen.
This new playground is designed to reflect the vibrant melting pot of cultures that is Maui, blending ancient Hawaiian traditions with modern influences to make players’ journeys more engaging than ever. They will discover the road to Hana, plus the deep lush bamboo forests, mesmerizing waterfalls and narrow bridges that showcase Maui’s natural wonders. Players can also experience the beauty of Kaihalulu Beach, with its glowing red sand, and explore the legendary Haleakalā National Park, the House of the Sun! The vibrant heart of the island, Kahului, has a lively downtown, deep harbor and verdant suburbs to explore. Maui beckons, offering endless opportunities for exploration and sensational motorized escapades.
Season 5 is the first of three added with Year 2, packed with free new car fun for players. It marks the return of the beloved Made in Japan-playlist, with Volume 2 introducing brand new neon races, events and locations. New street racer squads have arrived at the festival and they are determined to dominate the asphalt and put players to the test! Once all the major races have been completed, you can unlock the Rivals Race board and hold relentless one-on-one races on the open roads of both islands. But this is just the beginning! There are weeks of content planned for Season 5, with new challenges, car culture themes and cool cars to collect for the season.
Finally, the Year 2 update also brings premium PVE content with “The Chase Squad,” a new Motorfest twist on car chase gameplay. As members of the Chase Squad, players master the art of pursuit and embark on an adrenaline-fueled journey to chase, outwit and outsmart rivals around town in intense confrontations across the islands. French artist Carpenter Brut created Death Racer, an exclusive track to kick off these nighttime chases and put players on edge as they follow their rivals around the islands of O’ahu and Maui. This original soundtrack will be available next fall on all digital platforms.
The Chase Squad experience is included with the Year 2 Pass, available Nov. 6. It will also be part of the refreshed Gold and Ultimate editions of The Crew Motorfest, available on the same date. The Year 2 Pass gives you access to a total of 20 additional vehicles: nine vehicles will be available from day one, while the remaining 11 vehicles will be released over the course of the year via monthly drops
